Mohammed Al-Shaabi is an educational leader, strategist, and school principal with a strong commitment to reimagining learning in Qatar. As the Principal of Academyati, he leads a progressive school model that integrates project-based learning, personalization, and strong Islamic values to develop well-rounded, purpose-driven students.
With a background in chemical engineering and a career that spans education leadership, program management, and partnerships, Mohammed brings a unique systems-thinking approach to education. He previously served as a Program Manager at Teach For Qatar, where he coached and developed teachers, and later as a Partnership Manager within Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, building impactful collaborations and securing major initiatives that enhanced student experiences.
Mohammed is the architect behind several innovative frameworks at Academyati, including the Rihla project-based curriculum, a comprehensive behavior management system, and experiential learning models that prioritize student voice, real-world application, and wellbeing. His work focuses on creating learning environments where students grow not only academically, but also in character, leadership, and identity.
Beyond education, Mohammed is actively involved in national sports development as the National Team Committee President of the Qatar Bowling Federation, where he oversees athlete development strategies for both youth and senior teams.
He is passionate about leadership development, innovation in education, and building future-ready systems that are deeply rooted in culture, faith, and community.
